Youth Touch runs different kinds of projects on education, health and livelihood for the underserved communities both in rural and urban areas of Rajasthan, India. Since, our resources are limited; we invite volunteers from around the world to support these communities in their endeavors so as to make them self reliant to lead a better human life. We receive volunteers directly through our web site as well as through the recruitment organizations from Europe, America and beyond. |
We organize local excursions/adventure tours to places of historical and scenic importance and cultural workshops in order to enrich the volunteering experience. Our volunteers are offered a variety of cultural lessons on the region's history, culture and language in order to better familiarize them with the surrounding environment. From a secure and supportive environment each volunteer will contribute using their unique characteristics, the goal being that over the course of their program they will effect change by becoming an active part of the community rather than a distant observer.
We place the volunteers in Government Primary Schools to assist local teachers, help the care takers at Child Care Centers, participate in social activities that include awareness campaigns and health camps in cooperation with the local coordinators, supporting street kids and empower the women.
The general pattern is to work approximately for three to four hours a day from Monday to Friday. Work schedules will generally be fixed and regular but changes may occur, especially during the holiday season. Volunteers are free to arrange independent excursions and explore incredible India on Saturdays and Sundays.
Volunteers stay in a rural farm, being part of the host family. They are provided with comfortable accommodation and home made fresh Indian food three times a day. Youth Touch provides requisite training and support to its participants to ensure an effective and meaningful outcome of their sincere efforts.
We ensure total comfort and safety of the volunteers while offering opportunities for cross cultural exchange, develop better understanding between the communities and enjoy memorable adventures.
